Velentium is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team.

 What Will You Do? 

• Work with Project Management to ascertain project scope and work effort
• Perform detailed analyses of existing customer designs and specifications (Needs and Requirements)
• Generate system requirements, architectures and design systems to meet those requirements 
• Analyze systems and components to develop power and communication package budgets (including ICDs)
• Perform Risk Assessments (PHAs and FMEA)
• Perform system decomposition into sub-systems (arbitrate and collaborate with the teams)
• Perform architecture and design review on sub-systems
• Perform sub-system and system integration.
• Assist with new business proposals and project change activities
• Assist with design verification activities
• Learn new skills and methodologies as required to accomplish project objectives which meet schedule and project scope

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or software engineering; or equivalent experience
• 5 years systems engineering experience

Additional Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in medical device engineering and the System-Vee
• Demonstrated experience in medical device quality systems, ISO 13485
• Demonstrated experience in with a risk based approach and mentality including knowledge ISO 14971 
• The ability to work on multiple projects in varying phases concurrently
• Critical systems thinker, able to understand the problem statement prior to providing a solution
• An understanding of scrum based development practices
• A demonstrated ability to work alone AND in teams
• Demonstrated experience that displays an ability to learn and apply new skills

• A love for, and understanding of, complex medical devices and systems that are safety critical in nature

Nice to haves: Firmware, electrical , mechanical design and test experience, software development processes experience, systems integration experience. Usability, HFE, clinical, regulatory, quality experience.
