Velcro USA Inc. is Hiring a Senior Engineer, Plastics Near Manchester, NH

Job Objective: Perform a variety of engineering work, with limited supervision, to install, improve, and evaluate new and existing equipment and processes. Understand internal and external customer requirements, align outputs with capability to minimize the cost of poor quality and maximize customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Utilize appropriate statistical and data analysis tools within a structured problem-solving approach to characterize and improve existing processes, identify root cause, or translate customer requirements into repeatable and capable manufacturing processes.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze multi-phase validation runs to determine if new equipment, processes, and/or tooling meet functional performance requirements.
  • Initiate, develop and maintain Project Charters and Implementation Plans (includes establishing project scope, anticipated gains, required resources, timelines, etc.)
  • Act as technical liaison to development groups, participate on design/project review teams. Develop product and equipment specifications to ensure resulting processes are manufacturing capable.
  • Support transfer of project solutions or new processes to on-going global operations, through lessons learned, training, and development of standard operating procedures, where applicable.
  • Establish and implement documentation to ensure project outputs and improvements are measured, recorded, and sustained over time.
  • Understands and contributes to the development of the Operational Strategy that in turn drives Operational Excellence regionally and globally.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering, Plastics Engineering or Mechanical, Industrial, or other Engineering field considered with relevant knowledge and experience.
  • 5 to 9 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of applied statistics, process validation, root cause analysis and Six Sigma tools.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, communication, and project management skills.
  • Preferred experience utilizing MiniTab statistical software, knowledge of textile and/or plastics manufacturing processes, and experience with web management and converting processes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally; 10%
