Velasquez & Associates is the largest Latino law firm in North Carolina and we are seeking an associate for our Durham and Raleigh, NC offices. Our goal is to serve the Latino community by providing excellent representation in all of their legal matters. We are engaging, rewarding and professional.
Our work environment includes:
Duties:
- Negotiate with adjusters.
- Manage collection of billing and medical records.
- Send demand packages to insurance providers.
- Prepare and initiate litigation.
- Provide consultations with potential clients
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information.
- Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Organize and maintain case files and documents.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Schedule appointments, hearings, and depositions.
Qualifications:
- Authorized to practice law in NC.
- 3 years or more of experience in personal injury law.
- Experience with pre-trial mediation and litigation.
- Experience negotiating with adjusters.
- Strong knowledge of immigration procedures and legal terminology.
- Proficient in legal research tools and software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with court filing procedures and deadlines.
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
