Position Summary (Multiple Part-Time Positions Available)

The Custodian is responsible for the cleaning and minor maintenance of administrative offices, shops, and common areas at Veit’s Corporate Centre and associated buildings in Rogers, Minnesota. This is expected to be a 4 to 5 hours long shift, that begins in the late afternoon or evening. Shift start time may be negotiated. The working days are Monday through Friday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Plans, schedules, and performs routine cleaning and light maintenance.
• Routine cleaning and maintenance includes but is not limited to:
  • Vacuum and spot cleaning of carpets
  • Cleans hardwood and hard surface flooring
  • Cleans and disinfects bathrooms
  • Cleans glass horizontal and vertical surfaces
  • Deep cleans, disinfects, and organizes conference rooms and common areas
  • Deep cleaning and disinfecting of kitchen and break rooms
  • Dusting
  • Empties garbage and recycling bins
  • Replaces light bulbs
  • Orders and replenishes cleaning and maintenance supplies
  • Performs repairs and/or adjustments of office related items and fixtures
  • Repairs, adjusts, and/or moves furniture as needed
  • Hangs pictures or artwork as directed
  • Coordinates with shop managers for specific maintenance or cleaning projects
  • Other projects or duties as assigned by Management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• At least 3 months of cleaning, custodial, maintenance, or related experience.
• Ability to consistently adhere to cleaning schedule.
• Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and management, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to maintain compliance with all Veit policies and procedures.
• Ability to respond to shifting priorities with a can-do attitude.

Other

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Must possess valid driver’s license and ability to maintain satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
• Requires 4-5-hour workdays, Monday – Friday. This is expected to be a late afternoon or evening shift. Shift start and end time may be negotiated.

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, pull, push, crouch, lift above the waist and chest, reach above the head and engage in repetitive arm motions. navigate between office building floors and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted. The employee is occasionally required to use a computer/laptop/iPad in on office environment with natural and/or florescent lighting, The employee occasionally may encounter high noise levels, but hearing protection is provided/required.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employees may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Most often an office environment. Employee frequently works alone and with others. Occasionally exposed to moving machinery, loud noises, odors, dust, pressurized equipment while working in shop environment. Hearing and eye protection is provided. Occasionally exposed to electrical hazards. May be exposed to environmental conditions, and variable weather including rain, snow, wind, cold, and heat.
