VCUHSA VCU Health System Authority is Hiring a Remote Patient and Family Support Services Manager

The Patient & Family Support Services Program Manager will support the Manager Oncology, Clinical Administration, and Integrative Health (IH) Medical Director in creating, developing, implementing, and managing the day-to-day operations of the VCU Health Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center Patient & Family Support Services, Integrative Health Resource Center (IHRC) and Integrative Health Programs. This position partners with VCU Massey Cancer Service Line (CSL) leaders, the IH Medical Director, cancer care clinical teams, volunteer services, community leaders, philanthropic stakeholders, to develop effective patient and caregiver support services, programs, projects, and IH initiatives. Essential Job Statements Collaborate with key stakeholders, patient & caregiver support programs, integrative health and wellness initiatives, and complimentary therapy providers to implement evidence-based programs Maintain on-site presence, including staffing the IH Resource Center Provide and/or foster development of patient and caregiver education related to specific cancers and impact of cancer to the person and support unit, direct patients and caregivers to appropriate resources within VCU Massey and the community for additional information, as needed Utilize and analyze internal and external data to monitor, evaluate, and drive patient and caregiver support programs for effectiveness desired outcomes, and opportunities for enhancements Manage a diverse collection of cancer related patient-centric educational materials and resources, through multiple media sources such as the internet, social media, and update accordingly to current evidence-based products Plan, convene, and lead multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and other key stakeholders to develop new programs and supportive infrastructures Seek out current and evolving knowledge in the IH field, maintain an active engagement in integrative health literature and professional organizations to promote continuous learning relevant to and supportive of IH programs and initiatives Partner with IH medical director, CSL team to support data collection, analysis, evaluation and presentation for process and program quality improvement to include the potential for contribution to research projects and publications, in an effort to contribute to evolution of the Integrative Health oncology field Collaborate through direct interactions with the clinical team, patients, & caregivers in the clinical care environments to enhance program marketing and participation Promote and contribute to a culture of holistic care, ensuring programs and materials are of appropriate language, literacy and cultural content to support the population served by VCU Massey CSL. Serve as the VCU Health Volunteers site liaison to the VCU Massey IHRC and Program volunteers Collaborate with the manager oncology, clinical administration, IH medical director, and CSL leadership to identify and manager the IHRC budget and related operational financials Maintain the IHRC financials, including but not limited to the management of all awarded grants, funds, department budget, community donations, vendors, and contracted employees and services. Collaborate with the manager oncology, clinical administration, IH medical director to seek out and secure additional opportunities for local, regional, and national grants Responsible for the ordering of all materials and equipment to support the IHRC including, RFDs POs, and contracted suppliers in coordination with VCU Health procurement policy and procedures. Coordinate tours of the IHRC for special events and as requested Patient Population Demonstrates knowledge and related competencies of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age, specific needs and to provide the equitable care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures. Pediatrics (1-12 years) Adolescents (13-17 years) Adults (18-64 years). Geriatrics (65 years and older) Employment Qualifications Required Education: Master’s degree in nursing, social work, or education or a PharmD in pharmacy Preferred Education: Nursing degree, social work degree Licensure/Certification Required: If nursing or social work education, licensure through the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), Virginia Board of Nursing, and/or participating states or through the Association of Social Work Boards Licensure/Certification Preferred: Minimum Qualifications Years and Type of Required Experience: Minimum of six (6) or more years of relevant experience in cancer care, healthcare, or related field, experience in planning, development, and administration of health social services within a healthcare environment or programs at local community, county, or state level to include a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in developing and supporting collaborative partnerships both internally and externally related to the health of communities. Experience in cancer patient education content development.
