VCU Health System is Hiring a Surgical Tech (CST) Near South Hill, VA

```Job Overview```
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the success and safety of each operation.

```Duties```
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery by sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Assist surgical team by passing instruments and supplies during procedures
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery to prevent infection
- Monitor patients' vital signs during surgery and report any changes to the medical team
- Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, including cleaning and sterilization
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety
- Document all procedures, supplies used, and patient information accurately

```Requirements```
- Analytical skills to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide assistance accordingly
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to understand the surgical procedure being performed
- Familiarity with medical terminology to effectively communicate with the surgical team
- Experience in an acute care setting, preferably in a hospital or surgical center
- Knowledge of infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment
