Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Project Manager and on behalf of a client, the candidate will assist in the management and administration of all aspects of a successful water and wastewater project, which may include:

    Assisting in the constructability review of dams and/or water reservoir project plans and specifications
  • Providing professional services as client representative in roles of project and construction management to ensure that projects are constructed on schedule, on budget and in accordance with project contract documents
  • Duties shall include, but not limited to coordinating and administering compliance, and processing requests for information, submittals, invoices, billing, grant requirements, change orders, schedules, estimates and work plans through project completion and commissioning
  • Coordinating and ensures proper and timely communication between all stakeholders
  • Ensuring the project team adheres to all safety regulations
  • Successfully interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, inspectors, public officials, and the general public
  • Work with local and state regulatory agencies for project permitting, funding, etc.
  • Substantial presence on project sites

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must have an accredited degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or equivalent is required (extensive relevant project management experience in place of education may be considered)

  • Candidates must have at least 3 years of progressive project and construction management experience in water reservoirs/dams construction.

  • Strong communication, technical writing and time-management skills are required

  • Thorough understanding of contracts, documents, drawings, and specifications and applied experience in the areas of project accounting, cost, administrative, and personnel interaction in professional settings

  • Knowledge of project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles is required

  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related systems are required

  • Experience working in water, reservoir and/or dam related projects with an estimated construction cost between $5M - $100M is required

The candidate will have project and construction management experience in one or more of the following:

  • Water and Wastewater conveyance systems
  • Reservoir and Dam experience is highly preferred.
  • Water and Wastewater treatment systems
  • Reclaimed/Recycled water transmission, distribution and storage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CMAA, Project Management, DBIA, LEED, Envision or other relevant credentials
  • Local Experience within California

Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $94,000-$120,000.
