As a key member of Vanguard Furniture’s leadership team, the Director of Supply Chain will be responsible for all aspects of the Company’s Supply Chain, including but not limited to procurement, inventory management, logistics, and compliance. This candidate will drive a culture of continuous improvement through analysis, accountability, and proactive ownership of identified issues across the supply chain while collaborating with Senior Leadership and Vendors/Customers to quantifiably deliver improved customer service, quality, optimized working capital, and lower total delivered costs. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent and will preferably have experience or hold certifications in APICS, Lean Six Sigma, and/or other SC certifications.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:
  • Oversight of supply chain infrastructure in a highly complex environment.
  • Optimize inventory balances, manage procurement, and maximize cost efficiency across
  • supply chain operations.
  • Manage and be responsible for all aspects of inventory procurement.
  • Maintain cost effective inventory and procurement process with exceptional levels of
  • service.
  • Establish inventory levels and controls for purchased parts and materials to meet demand-
  • side product availability expectations.
  • Asses, facilitate, and prioritize inventory needs between business groups.
  • Lead rollout of inventory management best practices and tools across the organization.
  • Through collaboration, execute an efficient logistics plan by building and maintaining
  • relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Lead and optimize inventory across all locations and be responsible for inventory accuracy.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure effective planning, product quality, and
  • chargeback process.
  • Work with sales and marketing to develop a forecasting, or S&OP process, that supports
  • purchasing and manufacturing decisions.
    Requirements:
    CORE COMPETENCIES:
    1) Industry & Functional Experience: Experience in leading supply chain functions including demand management, order fulfillment, logistics, inventory optimization, and product quality. Background in interfacing with the marketing/product development group on supply chain issues. Experience with quality and compliance initiatives and process improvement.
    2) Business Acumen: Strong analytical skills and the ability to lead in a fiscally prudent and competitive manner. The right person will have the analytical capability to perform hands-on analysis, develop and implement performance KPI’s and dashboards, and will be able to create various ad-hoc reports. Proven skills at impacting the bottom line through implementation of supply chain best practices.
    3) Change Management: Track record of developing, implementing and standardizing supply chain processes using analytics that support consistently high levels of growth.
    4) Decisive Decision Quality: The selected candidate will possess the ability to make high-quality decisions, based on a combination of experience, judgement, and team collaboration. Ability to understand underlying factors and react effectively and quickly is a must.
    5) Dynamic Leadership: The candidate will have proven experience building a performance-driven culture and be able to achieve results through direct and indirect leadership. The right candidate has experience leading by influence and can effectively communicate across multiple departments and through multiple levels of the organization
    6) Relationship Building Skills: Builds strong relationships with the senior leaders and other functional areas of the organization. The candidate has the ability to work collaboratively both within the enterprise, as well as with alliance partners. Confidence and enthusiasm, with the requisite leadership skills to develop strong relationships with all other constituents within the company.
