Position Summary:
The Student Systems Analyst is part of the Office of the University Registrar at Vanderbilt University and is a key individual responsible for our system support operations involving PeopleSoft configurations, upgrade testing, and degree audits. This position is integral for the core mission of the Registrar, reporting directly to the Director of Operations in the Registrar Office, and functionally to the Assistant University Registrar.

The Office of the University Registrar supports the mission of Vanderbilt University by serving the needs of Vanderbilt’s colleges and schools, the faculty, current and former students, staff, and the general public in accordance with Vanderbilt’s academic policies and procedures. The Office of the University Registrar is committed to providing timely, accurate, and efficient service, and is dedicated to ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and security of Vanderbilt education records.
Key Functions and Expected Performance:
• Maintain database elements to store appropriate student information.
• Process data changes via downloads and direct entry as appropriate.
• Establish and run processes to update PeopleSoft and other systems data.
• Participate in testing, documenting, and training as systems are implemented and updated.
• Critically thinking through work to determine impact across the systems.
• Create and maintain user documentation.
• Have a thorough understanding of the structure of student systems under assigned functional areas to manage end-user support issues.
• May be assigned to provide support to multiple functional areas as needed.
Supervisory Relationships:
• This position does not have supervisory responsibility, the position reports administratively to the Deputy University Registrar and functionally to the Senior Assistant University Registrar.
Education and Certifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education and two years of experience or the equivalent is necessary.
Experience and Skills:
• At least two years of relevant professional experience is necessary.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is preferred.
• Ability to independently analyze problems and determine potential solutions is necessary.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to defining and documenting processes and ensuring accuracy is necessary.
