TITLE: Cashier/Customer Service

Reports To: Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager

Pay $14.00 and up based on experience

Full Time Benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid time off

Open hours, Close hours and a weekend day. Receive a regular set schedule.

Background Check and Drug Screen is required.

SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for scanning customer merchandise in a timely fashion, processing payments/data entry of all firearms sales according to ATF guidelines, and administering licenses via the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) website. This position will also be answering phone calls and handling customer service responsibilities by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Handles all needs and issues customers may have and deals with them accordingly to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Accurately process sales, returns, layaways, and special orders thru the Point of Sales system. 
  • Accurate data entry of all Firearm sales according to ATF guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate to management regarding issues that need to be addressed.
  • Responsible for promoting a positive culture within the department/store.
  • Answers incoming phone calls and routes them accordingly to the necessary departments. 
  • Operates ODNR licensing.
  • Examines merchandise to ensure that it is correctly priced and displayed and that it functions as advertised.
  • Responsible for processing and receiving payments and issuing receipts to customers as they leave with their purchases. 
  • Provides customer service by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Assists with inventory to and from the warehouse, and sales floor.
  • Performs work activities such as cleaning and organizing shelves and displays and selling merchandise. 
  • Enforces safety, health, and security rules. 
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as required by management.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
