JOB TITLE: Law Enforcement Inside Sales Representative

Reports To: Law Enforcement Executive Director

 SUMMARY: The position is responsible for providing high-quality services for customers by responding to their inquiries and concerns and resolving complaints about the company's goods and services/contracts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyzes law enforcement customers’ needs to help them purchase properly.
  • Quotes and answers customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, or credit terms.
  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs can be met by specific products and services.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information. 
  • Completes expense reports, sales reports, or other paperwork.
  • Attends sales and trade meetings and read related publications to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, and industry developments. 
  • Emphasizes product features based on analysis of customer’s needs and on the technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
  • Maintains customer records, using automated systems.
  • Prepares sales contracts for orders obtained and submits orders for processing.
  • Identifies prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences. 
  • Provides customers with ongoing technical support.
  • Demonstrates and explains the operation and use of products
  • Recommends ways for customers to alter product usage in order to improve production.
  • Stocks or distributes resources, such as samples or promotional or educational materials.
  • Verifies customer’s credit ratings and appraises equipment in order to determine contact terms and trade-in values.
  • Provides feedback to product design teams so that products can be tailored to clients’ needs.
  • Enforces safety, health, and security rules. 
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as required by management.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associates Degree and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have above average knowledge of: Microsoft Suite, CRM systems, Point of Service Systems; Internet Software.
