Job Title: Production Supervisor-5
Duration: Contract
Location: 3201 Fairfax Trafficway, Kansas City, KS 66115
Job Description
Manage the quality operations within a group of 10 to 20 hourly employees. Job requires walking/standing up to 8 hours each day.
Has supervisory responsibility for employees engaged in the quality inspection of production products. Work involves the coordination of a number of inspection functions involving the ability to make decisions within the limits of product quality standards and policies. Work performed under general supervision, while exercising a high level of independent judgment.
· Responsible for monitoring and enforcing the quality standards of an assigned area. Communication of department and plant quality metrics.
· Escalation of issues to all levels of management following escalation guidelines.
· Implement and follow systems that prevent re-occurrence of known issues through problem solving process. Leverage resources to solve quality issues.
· Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management. Understands and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
· Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping.
· Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods. Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).
· Able to make decisions independently with limited supervision
· Knowledge of basic technology and standards of area supervised
· Relatively high level of analytical ability where problems are complex
· Well-developed oral and written communication skills
· Knowledge of scheduling, manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and other management systems
· High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output
· Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required
Education/Experience
· Prefer college education. Role only requires HSD.
· Will need 10 years of working experience in Manufacturing
