Van's Aircraft, Inc. is Hiring a Supply Chain Manager Near Aurora, OR

The Supply Chain Manager leads the staff and the procurement activities. Plans, coordinates, and directs a variety of complex procurement and material processes from the initial proposal efforts through the delivery of the end product. Ensures that procurement procedures comply with government laws (domestic/international), regulations and management objectives.
Essential Responsibilities
? Develops procurement strategies and oversees all procurement and material planning activities from the initial proposal efforts through the delivery of the end product.
? Organizes, directs, and implements cost-reduction activities to ensure maximum return for minimum expenditures.
? Implements processes to manage risk within the supply chain and monitors procurement procedures to comply with government laws (domestic/international), regulations, and company policy.
? Manages contractual differences between purchase order requirements and supplier performance; establishes contractual obligations, while ensuring compliance with laws and truth in negotiations.
? Monitors marketplace changes to avoid negative impact on corporate cost and delivery performance objectives.
? Plans tactics and strategies for negotiations of subcontracts to maintain expenditures within program material budget limitation.
? Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs.
? Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations.
? Demonstrates consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
? Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
? Other responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
? Excellent facilitation and project management skills with ability to lead the procurement team and to drive tasks to completion.
? Knowledge of procurement best practices, and experience managing tight deadlines, in an aerospace/manufacturing environment.
? Understanding of contracts, compliance and government laws (domestic/international) relating to procurement.
? Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and demonstrated use of thought leadership to set and execute procurement strategies
Experience negotiating license contracts with a track record of success negotiating with a variety of suppliers.
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
? Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools
Education and Experience
Bachelor?s degree required; 7-10 years of manufacturing experience required; aerospace experience preferred.
