Valve Meter is growing, and we’re looking for an all-star Digital Marketing Specialist / SEO to join our agency’s inbound marketing team. managing the SEO efforts for a portfolio of assigned clients. This includes developing comprehensive SEO strategies, working cross-departmentally to execute your SEO plans, ensuring client deliverables are met on time, and compiling data for our account managers to report the results of your campaigns. This role ensures our strategies increase our client’s visibility on search engines to help drive leads through their website and directory channels.
Local SEO Strategists are responsible for creating, launching, executing, and maintaining local SEO campaigns and “own” the numbers and results for their clients as they pertain to this constant upward growth.

Relevant Capabilities of Digital Marketing Specialist / SEO
Our Ideal Candidate should be able to:
Understand each client’s short- and long-term goals and develop effective local SEO strategies that will result in organic ranking improvement and map pack growth. Identify opportunities to improve organic conversion rates for primarily B2C local service clients.
Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of search engine behavior: What content do search engines crawl and read, what practices to avoid, and what changes will have the most impact based on current algorithms?
Conduct comprehensive site auditing and proactively identify on-page and technical SEO opportunities; document recommended solutions through 90-day planning cycles, working with development teams to advise on implementation.
Ensure the prompt execution of local SEO campaigns, including GBP, review management, technical SEO, content creation (blogs, pillar pages, service pages, city pages, etc.), on-page optimization, citations, guest post links, and more.
Manage day-to-day campaign activity and client deliverables. Provide direction to Performance Marketing Specialists on specific strategy and tactic execution.
Work with the Content Marketing team to ensure high-quality content assets are delivered on time, on budget, and in scope.
Create all content for Growth Talks, our quarterly client reviews.
Develop comprehensive keyword research documentation and strategic keyword evaluations to drive content opportunities.
Track and report on all results, including continuous keyword research and monitoring, competitor results, and Google map pack tracking.
Interpret and explain data discoveries related to organic search, specific SEO initiatives, and client KPIs.
Assist in developing and effectively communicating SEO strategies, deliverables, and results to clients
Seize opportunities to improve skills and seek out new knowledge related to local SEO. Stay up to date on current local SEO industry trends and technologies, and communicate these trends to clients and the V M Marketing team
Conduct research for off-page SEO campaigns that drive awareness and indicate relevance to the search engines
Relevant Capabilities of Digital Marketing Specialist / SEO
When considering a new position it is important to understand what to expect from your day-to-day workflow and contribution expectations. At Valve Meter, each subject matter expert has 5-7 key things they are primarily responsible for. The 5-7 things for this position encompass:
Manage a book of clients and develop a personalized SEO strategy to help increase their online visibility in search engines
Prioritize opportunities for each client by cost, impact, and difficulty that will provide each client the most bang for the buck. Create 90 day plans to execute on those opportunities.
Work cross-departmentally to ensure quarterly SEO campaigns–including GBP, on-page, content, off-page, citations, review management, and more–are executed on time. This is not a project manager role – we expect that you are doing hands-on SEO work.
Compile data for our account managers to report the results of your campaigns
Constantly audit client websites and campaign results to surface issues or areas for improvement
Experience of Digital Marketing Specialist / SEO
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or similar education
Minimum of 3 years experience with SEO and SEO strategy
Experience with Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Moz, SEMRush, or equivalent tools is a must
Hands-on, documented experience executing local SEO campaigns, including GBP, links, content, city pages, service pages, pillar content, blog strategy, technical fixes, on-page optimization, and more.
Preferred:
5 years of experience executing local SEO campaigns
Experience working at a marketing agency
Three or more years experience in a similar role is preferred
Experience tracking time to specific clients and projects
Skills of Digital Marketing Specialist / SEO
Inquisitive and curious – you’re not a box-checker
Love of data and numbers
Excellent knowledge of digital marketing in SEO, ranking factors, algorithm updates, and new tactics
Fundamental knowledge of HTML would be fantastic
Driven and competitive – local SEO is a zero-sum game and winning is important.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities at the same time
