Valtris Specialty Chemicals is Hiring a Logistics Supervisor Near Fort Worth, TX
- Support accountability for warehouse and shipping performance via management of shippers.
- Assigning workloads and daily tasks to warehouse staff.
- Liaise with customer service, suppliers and transportation resources.
- Prepare and execute transportation planning.
- Load plans (weekly and daily) and coordination with 4PL logistics service provider for trucking.
- Bills of lading
- Assist Supply Chain Manager in monitoring plant inventories and submit purchase requisitions for all needed raw materials, packaging, and other supplies on a timely basis.
- Good receipts of incoming materials to warehouse and by rail.
- Manage all incoming and outgoing rail shipments, coordinate rail switches in and out of plant, and maintain daily rail report.
- Administer plant cycle count program and maintain accurate inventories in SAP.
- Support the investigation of stock discrepancies and coordinate with finance team to resolve and improve stock accuracy.
- Maintain shipping records.
- Maintain accuracy of all shipping and warehouse procedures and update as needed.
- Generate certificates of analysis for daily shipments under guidance from Quality Manager.
- Compile required shipment(s) by initiating and processing picking tickets for warehouse personnel.
- Supports the Supply Chain Manager in managing warehouse, including personnel, in compliance with company’s policies and vision.
- Supervise receiving of materials and packaging, warehousing, distribution.
- Monitor and coordinate the flow of packages from preparation to shipment.
- Build working relationships with the Plant Manager, management team, operational, and shipping personnel.
- Conformance with the Valtris Quality and Environmental, Health, Safety and Security policies and awareness of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system requirements applicable to this position.
- Perform other warehouse/logistics support activities as directed by the Supply Chain Manager
- Minimum of 3 years of warehouse/shipping/logistics/inventory management experience. Experience in chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
- High school, GED or associate degree. Preferred: bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration.
- Demonstrated skills in ISO 9001, BOL’s, CofA’s, and FIFO Order Management.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Good interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, effective communication skills both verbal and written, computer literate, multi-task oriented.
- Preferred knowledge and/or understanding of 5s practices.
- Ability to successfully communicate and work through maintenance teams both internal & external (General Upkeep & Fork Lift maintenance).
- Must be physically able to operate variety of electronic office equipment – computer, printer, radio, phone.
- At times, prolonged periods of sitting at desk working on computer/workstation and on calls.
- May occasionally need to lift up to 10 pounds.
- May occasionally need to bend, stoop, reach and/or twist at the waist.
- Ability based upon position and need to perform duties/visit/walk through a manufacturing environment with the following conditions: chemical and mechanical operations, dust and fumes, working within safe but proximity to forklift and machine operations, exposure to heat and humidity, hearing or talking around loud machinery.
- Wearing of personal protective equipment as required.
