Payroll Lead, Finance

Job Summary:

The Payroll Lead is responsible for preparing and processing biweekly payroll, which includes ensuring payroll is completed timely, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. This position generates and analyzes payroll reports and conducts regular payroll-related audits. The Payroll Lead ensures accurate and timely submission of payroll taxes and other statutory deductions. This position works collaboratively with Finance, Human Resources, as well as department leaders across VHP, and may participate in finance related projects as necessary.

Education:

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Management, Accounting or related field.
  • Four additional years of payroll experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Finance, Business Management, Accounting or related field.

Experience:

• Required: Three years of payroll and tax experience. Experience with payroll, timecard, and HRIS software.
• Preferred: More than three years of payroll experience in a healthcare. Experience using UKG for payroll.

Certificate/Training:

• Certified Payroll Professional (CCP), preferred.

Required Skills:

• Strong Excel experience and knowledge.
• Advanced knowledge of tax compliance.
• Advanced math skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
