Valley County Idaho is Hiring a Grant Writer Near Cascade, ID

Summary

Valley County is looking for a Grant Writer to research and locate potential funding sources, write grant applications, monitor awarded grants for program compliance, and generate all required documentation and financial reports. This is an exciting opportunity for a career-minded individual who is interested in working with, and providing assistance to, many different offices and departments within the county.
This is a full-time position with full county benefits and will report to the County Clerk.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities
Grant Writers are responsible for working with elected officials and department heads to ascertain what type of grants could be appropriate for their departments, conducting research to locate relevant grants, and writing and submitting grant applications. When grants are awarded to the county, the Grant Writer is responsible for securing the awarded funding, monitoring expenditures for compliance, keeping all relevant documentation on the use of awarded funds, and reporting back to the awarding agency per the requirements of the grant.

Typical Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with some post-secondary education preferred. Excellent writing skills are essential as the success of an incumbent in this position is dependent upon their writing abilities. Professional work experience in researching grants and writing grant applications is strongly desired, including any knowledge of federal grant requirements. Certification as a Community Development Block Grant Administrator is preferred, and would be expected to be obtained within one year of hire.
