Behavior Paraprofessionals/CBS Worker

**Now hiring behavior paraprofessionals that will work in the Filer, Hansen, or Kimberly School Districts**

CBS workers and Paraprofessionals provide assistance to a child with a disability by facilitating the child’s independence and integration into the community and public school settings. This service provides an opportunity for children to explore their interests, practice skills learned in other therapeutic environments, and learn though interactions in typical community settings. Integration into the community enables children to expand their skills related to activities of daily living and reinforces skills to achieve or maintain mobility, sensory-motor, communication, socialization, personal care, relationship building, and participation in leisure and community activities. Staff must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a high school graduate of have a GED
  • Some college is helpful in some of our positions
  • Have the ability to provide services according to a plan of service
  • Have 6 months supervised experience working with children with developmental disabilities. This can be achieved in the following ways:
  • Have experience gained through paid employment, university practicum experience, or internship; OR
  • Have on-the-job experience gained through employment at VCC DDA with increased supervision. Experience is gained by completing at least 6 hours of job shadowing prior to the delivery of direct support services and a minimum of weekly face-to-face supervision with a clinical supervisor for a period of 6 months while delivering services
  • Complete competency coursework approved by the Department to demonstrate competencies related to the requirements to provide habilitative supports
  • Maintain a valid Idaho driver’s license and car insurance
  • Successfully complete, pass, and maintain criminal history and background check
  • Be CPR and First aid certified within 90 days of hire
  • Agree to VCC’s drug testing policy
  • Ensure that the child is involved in age-appropriate activities and engaged with typical peers
  • Provide services in the home and community settings
  • Provide services in a safe environment
  • Attend staff meetings and case conferences
  • Prioritize and coordinate daily activities in regards to participant’s needs
  • Comply with Valley Community Counseling DDA’s Policies and Procedures
  • Follow the plan of service and provide services accordingly
  • Demonstrate ability to establish priorities, goals, and deadlines
  • Complete and maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Advocate for participants and their families as needed
  • Attend family-centered planning meetings
  • Attend training sessions in order to increase knowledge and skills
  • Ensure participant’s record information is protected and confidentiality procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Staff with receive a minimum of an annual performance appraisal in writing to assess their progress and competencies over time centered on the therapist’s knowledge, skills, and attitudes and including: evaluation of competencies, observation of skills, mentoring, planning and monitoring their work with individuals, families, and communities.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
