SCHEDULE: Full Time
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 0% - 5%
COMPENSATION: $78,522.00 to $169,806.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
About Our Opportunity
Our Financial Operations Processes and Systems Manager works with Financial Operations leadership to create and/or improve systems and processes. This position will also help facilitate communication with Business Owners (BO), user groups, development teams and business stakeholders as necessary using a combination of process improvement, waterfall and agile methodologies.

The Financial Operations Processes and Systems Manager will elicit business requirements for current and upcoming project requests and liaison with the Business Technology team to manage the project list. The individual in this position is expected to understand the business processes and systems to assist with identifying possible enhancements for Financial Operations and improve the value of the end user.
How You Will Spend Your Time
  • Assist with the strategy and deployment of Continuous Improvement (CI) principles and practices for Financial Operations.
  • Represent Financial Operations on Continuous Improvement Voice of the Business (CIVOB) teams in identifying, scoping and prioritizing opportunities for improvement (OFI's).
  • Understand the "as-is" and "to-be" business processes as needed to ensure all parties are working towards the same goal.
  • Model the expected system interactions, particularly when software is being developed.
  • Work with continuous improvement initiatives to identify and document system recommendations for current and future development.
  • Work with users to update business processes and procedures guidelines.
  • Work with subject matter experts to support the mapping, improvement, measurement and maintenance of association business systems, processes and value steams.
  • Manage projects with multiple component projects.
  • This will include providing oversight to support and coordinate project-level activities to make sure program goals are met.
  • Elicit, document and manage requirements and related acceptance criteria.
  • Ask probing questions to fully understand user requirements with the ability to provide feedback on possible implications of any and all requests.
  • Look for gaps in data requirements between what is in place and what is needed.
  • Model the data requirements or work with the appropriate people to ensure that the data will support the new solution.
  • Lead or participate in Financial Operations CI events and projects to successful completion and realization of the value forecasted in the event or project charter.
  • Manage all aspects of Financial Operations projects, from inception through project close, ensuring that project management methodology is applied to all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • This will include leading and facilitating planning sessions to assist in determining project approach and overall timelines associated with project requirements.
  • Support the business owner by discussing business and technical impacts of and dependencies related to priority decisions.
  • This individual will be an advocate on behalf of the Financial Operations team.
  • Work closely with the Business Transformation (BT) department and other departments to automate and operationalize new and improved processes.
  • Represent and communicate the mission and values of Farm Credit Mid-America and abide by its conduct policy, security policy and confidentiality expectations.
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in operations, finance, statistics, computer science, business or related field and experience developing business requirements, test plans or implementing systems. Plus 2-3 years successful experience in business analysis, business process management, business process reengineering, project management or continuous improvement in a transactional environment.
Mental & Physical Requirements
While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
