Founded in 1925 and a leader in the production of Stainless Steels, Nickel Alloys and Titanium Long products, Valbruna is a private company with 2,500 employees and an annual output of approx. 250,000 tons of specialty steels. Production is primarily focused on Stainless Steels and Specialty Alloys, available in blooms and billets, ingots, round, square, flat, hexagonal and angle bars, wire rod, wire, reinforcement bars and threaded rods, with the expressed goal of satisfying the most sophisticated needs of the customer. Coordinate with the VSSI Organization to develop, maintain and implement Quality Management Systems for the purposes of benefiting the Operational and Sales goals of the Company.
The Quality Systems Coordinator will obtain and maintain certification to our required Quality Management Systems. Including but not limited to those listed in the following table
Work to obtain additional QMS certifications according to market demandsManage shop floor Quality Assurance activities.
Work to ensure that customer requirements and expectations are being carried out through the use of audits and inspections. Performs and manages Internal Audits and fast auditsWork with all Key Processes with writing, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the management system including procedures, SOIs, corrective actions, process changes, control plans, flow diagrams and continuous improvement exercises.
Conducts internal (and external as necessary) quality audits
Issues Corrective / Preventive action and serves as a team member or leader on corrective / preventive action exercises. Ensure that actions resulting from corrective actions are completed.
Works as a member or leader of continuous improvement teams, compiling data for nonconforming material and presenting to the metallurgical group.
Liaise with customers for required data and Corrective Action Responses and subsequent action.
Prepare and present management review meetings. Computes and maintains plant quality data for metrics and the Balanced ScorecardDrive operational improvement through the evaluation of data and operational practices. Must focus on improving yields and decreasing product nonconformity.
Maintains professionalism, provides leadership and positive image to the organization
Ensure adherence to all safety procedures and regulations
Must be proficient with computer programs such as Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, etc.
Perform additional, related duties as assigned.Education and Training
Degree in Engineering / Metallurgy / Material / Chemical or Physical Sciences; alternatively, a relevant Associate degree (Quality Engineering) with specifically related experience is necessary for this position
