Va Tech Foundation is Hiring a Fiscal Technician Near Blacksburg, VA

 

Virginia Tech Foundation, Inc. (VTF) is a nonstock corporation established in 1948 for the sole purpose of managing the endowment and real estate portfolio of Virginia Tech, now valued at $2.8 billion. VTF exists and operates as a separate, independent entity with its own officers and governing board – managing, investing, and distributing private resources to advance Virginia Tech’s mission and its strategic priorities. VTF’s wholly-owned for-profit subsidiary, Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center, is a business park and operation for commercializing Virginia Tech research and programming.

Responsibilities: Process disbursement vouchers in an accurate and timely manner while providing exceptional customer service to the university community. Processing disbursements includes verification of the appropriateness of the expense, authorized users’ signature, and available cash balance. Review and approval of disbursement vouchers entered by others ensuring accuracy of data entry. Perform check verification and check release memo during the check run process. Assist with clerical functions of the department as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Must possess accounts payable experience, advanced spreadsheet and data entry skills, excellent communication and customer service skills, experience with Microsoft Office and SCT Banner Finance, fundamental knowledge of accounting, W9’s and 1099 process. Associates degree preferred; or equivalent level training and/or experience in accounting or related field.
