Unit Description:
Sodexo has an exciting opportunity available for a Vice President of TalentNorth America Region.

This is a remote based position with the ideal candidate based

in the Eastern or Central time zone.

Reporting directly to the SVP/CHRO, the VP of Talent will oversee the HR functions responsible for ensuring that the candidate and employee experience is one that continuously supports our employees’ development, sense of belonging, and career throughout the various phases of their time with Sodexo from interviewing, to onboarding and career advancement and development. The VP of Talent will have ownership for all aspects of talent acquisition and learning, performance & development, ensuring that our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is embedded in our practices, policies, development programs and talent strategy.
The individual in this role will lead a region Transversal Talent team that will equip our people and managers with tools and frameworks they need to be successful in a purposeful, inclusive and performance-driven culture. This role is a unique combination of strategic, transformational, operational, and tactical leadership.
Overall Accountabilities:
  • Lead and manage a team responsible for designing progressive talent management infrastructure, processes and frameworks from the first touch point of an employees’ experience to the last point of the employees’ experience.
  • Lead the talent acquisition and learning & performance teams and develop programs that drive talent and career development. Design solutions focused on employee engagement, inclusion and retention.
  • Provide thought leadership on topics of talent selection, assessment, onboarding and development including calibration, training, compliance and efficiencies.
  • Champion and create buy-in for testing and implementing new talent acquisition and talent management technologies and solutions.
Learning, Performance and Talent Management:
  • Translate the global and region Learning & Performance strategy, programs, policies, services, etc. into action in the region
  • Actively drive initiatives and enable successful deployment of L&P programs, policies, services across the region, collaborating with Business and Transversal HR, ensuring that local requirements are considered
  • Coordinate local initiatives in the region to maximize efficiency and tap the full potential of scale effects (e.g. for license costs)
  • Partner with the business leaders and the HR leaders to drive HR solutions for the business both pragmatically and holistically
  • Closely align with peers globally to share best practices
  • Proactively diagnose and identify L&P needs at the region level and align with the Global Function Lead
  • Review region L&P KPIs and ensure maximum quality in HR processes provided to the business
  • Contribute to the design of the Global Learning & Performance Strategy by actively sharing inputs from the region
  • Develop and implement processes that follow the strategy and organization’s operating principles
  • Manage roll-out and execution of the L&P programs and processes in the region, in line with the agreed calendar, including program launch, monitoring quality and compliance, and ensuring full and timely completion before developing and recommending on-going improvements.
  • Oversee allocated Learning & Performance projects in the region and all associated change management activities.
  • Ensure effective Talent Management processes in the region, including performance appraisal, talent identification, career development and succession planning.
  • Develop executive and leadership development programs that are complementary and pipeline to Global Leadership programs.
  • In collaboration with the global Learning & Development Function, ensure effective Learning & Development in the region, including learning needs assessment, learning plans, learning methods and solutions (on-the-job, classroom and online) and learning effectiveness analyses.
Talent Acquisition
  • Ensure effective Talent Acquisition processes in the region, including building talent pipeline, candidate search and recruitment, employer branding and onboarding
  • Provide vision, leadership, planning and management for strategic talent acquisition programs.
  • Partner and develop key relationships with business leaders, internal hiring managers, hiring teams, HR partners and other stakeholders to recommend and successfully implement innovative and effective recruitment strategies.
  • Work closely with HR Partners and key stakeholders on needs assessments and workforce planning.
  • Leverage personal and professional networks, knowledge of talent communities, recruitment best practices and excellent judgment to counsel and guide leaders and HR professionals to hire the best talent.
  • Implement proactive branding strategies to elevate Sodexo’s reputation in the marketplace.
  • Manage design and output of candidate materials, recruitment advertising and marketing components to ensure consistency across all recruiting activities.
  • Set strategic and operational direction to support organization goals and expansions.
  • Track relevant talent acquisition KPIs and provide analytics for performance management and decision-making.
  • Maintain awareness of current legal and compliance environment relating to hiring and recruitment activities both domestically and internationally.
  • Identify and recommend new sourcing systems, processes or techniques to enhance efficiencies.
  • Effectively partner with external vendors (agencies, staffing firms, research companies, etc.), and internal HR stakeholders (business partners, compensation and benefits, talent management) to ensure successful execution of hiring and on-boarding processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, regularly monitor the success of recruiting processes and develop and execute continuous improvements.
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
  • Establish partnerships with a wide network of colleagues to ensure implementation of best practice and the optimal use of resources. Build productive relationships at all levels and in all parts of the HR functions.
  • Collect stakeholder requirements and drive and foster best practices. Build wide and effective networks of contacts both inside and outside of the organization.
People Management
  • Lead, direct, evaluate and develop the Talent team in the region to ensure a highly engaged and highly qualified team.
  • Ensure that the Talent organization in the region is properly set up, staffed and skilled.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of Human Resources, Business Administration or similar.
  • 10 years of broad HR experience, to include Talent Acquisition, Talent Development and/or Management, Leadership Development and Management Training, Performance Management, and designing/implementing/managing multiple complex projects across multiple geographies (globally, a plus) and business areas in a Shared Service environment.
  • Experience managing/leading in a large multi-national organization is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with excellent influencing and consultancy skills and the ability to understand and speak the language of the business.
  • Ability to think ahead and anticipate in order to prioritize and plan activities
  • Proactive leadership skills and ability to lead virtual teams, manage, coach and motive others
  • Resilience - strong ability to work with ambiguity and changing set of circumstances and issues
  • Ability to quickly assimilate complex information and take independent action where necessary
  • Collaborating across boundaries - connects people, ideas, processes and issues. Builds helpful, productive relationships across the organization.

Qualifications & Requirements:
