We are seeking a Cook to join our dedicated team of educators! You will assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals and snacks in our professional kitchen.

Sign on bonus! Applicants hired into this position will receive a $600.00 bonus after 90 days of employment and an additional $200.00 per month thereafter.

UW Oshkosh pursued the recently released, Child Care Counts: Stabilization Payment Program from Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF), which will provide additional payments to licensed childcare programs specifically to address increasing access to high-quality care and funding workforce recruitment and retention.

Payments will be determined based on ongoing funding but will be:

• At least $150 and up to $500 for those working 21-40 hours per week
• At least $75 and up to $250 for those working 20 hours or less per week

Monthly payments will continue through June of 2025. Monthly amounts are established based on sites’ Young Star Rating and program budget.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Possession of or eligibility to obtain a valid Wisconsin Driver’s license and be authorized by Risk Management to drive a University vehicle upon appointment.
• Possession of current ServSafe Protection Manager Certificate or ability to be obtained within 6 months of hire or are subject to immediate release from employment.
• Skill in preparing food that is nutritious, good tasting and appealing in manner.
• Ability to self-manage time.
• Ability to maintain well-organized record keeping and reporting systems (attention to detail)
• Ability to utilize strong problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Course work and training in foods, nutrition and/or dietetics.
• Experience and knowledge of Head Start in general.
• Knowledge of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
