JOB TITLE: 

Wyoming Athletics Hype Squad

JOB PURPOSE: 

The Wyoming Athletics Hype Squad is part of the Marketing and Fan Experience team. We are looking for energetic and outgoing students to assist with the overall execution of fan experience initiatives on gameday for select Wyoming Athletics programs.

Hype squad members will help boost the overall atmosphere of Wyoming Athletics events through various measures. They will assist in getting the crowd involved through cheers, t-shirt tosses, and other measures. Hype squad members will be expected to work gamedays for Wyoming Athletics. The ideal Hype Squad member is upbeat, positive, and energetic.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interact with fans and Wyoming students throughout Wyoming Athletics events
• Understand the flow of games and keep the crowd engaged through various measures
• Work closely with Wyoming Spirit and the Marketing and Fan Experience team to make decisions regarding gameday atmosphere
• Manage signs and other gameday props to enhance in-venue atmosphere
• Continually represent Wyoming Athletics in a positive, enthusiastic, and professional manner
• Other duties as assigned 

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High school diploma
• Current UW Student
• Basic customer service experience
• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time in various weather conditions 
• Enthusiasm and positivity regarding the Wyoming Athletics brand

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Must have high energy, be enthusiastic, and display positivity regarding the Wyoming Athletics brand
• Must be reliable, punctual, courteous, and have good listening and multi-tasking skills
• Must possess strong communication skills and be able to communicate with members of the public
• Must be available to work home athletic events for the 2024-2025 athletics season
• Must be able to work all home football games and select other Wyoming Athletics events for the 2024-2025 season
• Must be available to work both fall and spring semesters, with some exception for December 2024 graduates
