UTIMCO is Hiring an Investment Analyst - Private Equity Near Austin, TX

UTIMCO’s Private Equity team is looking for an Investment Analyst to join its expanding team. The Analyst will work with the Private Equity Team to research, analyze, and monitor investments across Venture Capital, Private Equity, and Private Credit. This position will receive broad exposure to the entire investment process and participate in broader UTIMCO investment allocation decisions. 

Broad Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyze and support investment objectives, allocation strategies, and investment performance
  • Screen, monitor, and assist in the selection of investment managers through fund and asset class research, manager meetings, and portfolio analysis
  • Assist in diligence and memo preparation in the evaluation of co-investments
  • Support, track, and monitor all phases of the investment process and investment performance
  • Assist investment staff in negotiating and drafting deal terms with managers and other outside parties
  • Conduct asset class research and assist with the development of investment themes

Requirements:

We seek an investment professional with superior commercial judgment, a track record of success, a collegial operating style, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have most or all the following skills, knowledge, experience, and personal characteristics:

  • 1-3 years of professional experience, preferably in investment banking, investment research, or in an institutional environment
  • This is a pre-MBA position ideally suited for individuals with strong financial abilities and practiced writing skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills are essential to success in this role
  • Knowledge and understanding of information systems including advanced computer skills in spreadsheets and databases (knowledge of Bloomberg and Factset a plus)
  • A collegial, team-oriented, constructive, “can do” attitude
  • Unquestioned honesty, integrity, and transparency.
