Utica Community School District is Hiring an Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director of Business and Finanace Near Sterling, MI

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field and experience in accounting or finance is required. Applicants with an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • Must possess high levels of proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft suite applications.
  • Experience with school related technology such as AS-400 preferred and willingness to learn new software and programs.
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism. Manage and maintain highly confidential information.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively problem solve and respond to questions and/or concerns from the community including parents, students, teachers, and administrators.
  • Highly detail-oriented and demonstrated high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent oral and effective written communication skills.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency tests will be required.

Description:

  • Assists the Executive Director of Business & Finance in all related departmental office functions.
  • Prepare budget documents, amendments and presentations.
  • Review business office documents for accuracy.
  • Initiate property tax refunds and reconcile to state.
  • Process daily banking transactions as needed.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assist with audit preparation, maintaining transparency information on the district website.
  • Prepare cash flow analysis and assist with various budget analysis.
  • Post budget adjustments, prepare journal entries, and assist with federal grant budget development and reporting including monitoring of personnel activity reports.
  • Prepare and submit Medicaid quarterly financial reports in coordination with the Special Education Department.
  • Assist with preparation of annual reports and communication related to property tax levy, bond disclosure and the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
  • Ability to perform duties and comply with district procedures and Board of Education Policies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
