Utica Community School District is Hiring a Board Certified Behavior Analyst Near Sterling, MI

Reports to: Executive Director of Special Services

Qualifications:

  • Master's (MA or MS) or Educational Specialist (EdS) degree in Special Education, school psychology, or a related field with a focus on behavior analysis.Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification or eligibility through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB).

  • Experience in providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with complex behavior issues, preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, encompassing functional analysis methodology, verbal behavior, and ethical standards.
  • Familiarity with ABA principles and suitable assessments and interventions for children in school settings.
  • Strong ability to work independently, with keen attention to detail, and adeptness in prioritizing tasks and goals for oneself and others.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to all staff members.

Description:

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst with expertise in autism spectrum disorder and behavioral interventions, including severe social language and behavioral deficits. Proficient in behavioral principles, adaptive technology, with experience in public school settings. 

  • Develop tailored behavior protocols and data collection systems for educational environments, encompassing both structured and unstructured settings.
  • Collaborate effectively with school teams to conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and create Positive Behavior Support Plans.
  • Conduct student needs assessments, observations, and collaborate on action plans to address individual student needs.
  • Provide training, modeling, and professional development on classroom management and positive behavioral strategies.
  • Offer feedback and training to staff implementing Behavioral Support Plans.
  • Evaluate student progress based on academic and behavioral goals, updating plans accordingly.
  • Attend meetings for students on Behavioral Support Plans and Behavioral Safety Plans.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and parents on a case-by-case basis.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and district special education meetings.
  • Facilitate meetings with various stakeholders to coordinate and provide behavioral support services.
  • Conduct research to identify professional development materials and provide training to staff.
  • Prepare documentation, reports, and correspondence, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.
