Job Summary:
The Glenn Biggs Institute is looking for an individual who will learn to perform diverse research and administrative duties. The candidate must be self-motivated, independent in task completion, exhibit sound judgement, and comfortable accepting feedback and guidance from colleagues. The ability to work well in a team and excellent communication skills are a must.
Successful candidates will display interest in learning about research fundamentals to join a collaborative team of clinicians, epidemiologists, and statisticians conducting research on dementia. Selected candidate will receive training in coordinating a multidisciplinary research project including but not limited to, recruitment of participants obtaining informed consent, administering cognitive assessments, documentation, data entry, and quality control reviews. Under supervision, the successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and configuring the digital technology platform (e.g. smart watches, motion sensors, etc.), testing new equipment, and maintaining and troubleshooting issues with the digital technology platform in participant homes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Ability to work well independently with research participants and staff with minimal supervision.
4. Possess strong skills for multitasking, meeting competing deadlines, prioritizing and supporting the investigator team.
5. Ability to travel in a vehicle to participant homes in the greater San Antonio region.
Job Duties:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
Experience: At least 2 years of clinical research or clinical care experience is preferred. English and Spanish bilingual is also preferred.
