Job Summary:
Under general supervision, responsible for performing a wide variety of administrative and clinical support functions in a remote outpatient child/adolescent behavioral health clinic. Position assumes an administrative role that provides an excellent customer experience for all patients and partnered school districts. TCHATT is an initiative of the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC), created by the 86th Texas Legislature to leverage the expertise and capacity of the health-related institutions of higher education to address child and adolescent mental health challenges and improve the mental health care system in the state of Texas. This position will be a hybrid position working remote and/or on campus. Candidate being considered would need to live in SA, TX to be considered for both trainings and occasional required meetings.
Job Duties:
1. Handles and answers external and internal phone calls including transferring calls to the appropriate departments.
2. Manage clinic appointments according to the providers’ schedules and protocols.
3. Respond to e-mails and communicate all necessary patient information to provider in a timely manner.
4. Prepares charts as necessary for upcoming scheduled appointments, provide physician with all necessary test results, lab results and medical records as requested.
5. Triages calls, medications/refills and facilitates patient needs, and documents all communication into the EMR system.
6. Perform Data Entry
7. Handle all medication refills or request via clinic policy.
8. Communicate all necessary patient information to clinician in a timely manner.
9. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or GED and graduation from a Medical Assistant program is required.
Experience:
Three (3) years of direct and related experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
Additional Licenses and Certifications:
CPR certification is required. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is preferred.
Additional Skills:
Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish).
Familiarity with phone systems.
Professionalism
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite; Excel)
Strong computer proficiency skills preferred.
Typing speed >50 wpm
