Position: Pump Control Tester

1st Shift/Full-Time: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM; Monday - Friday

Competitive Starting Pay: $22.00 - $24.00/hr., BOE

Working Conditions: Indoors, No travel

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Program settings in variable frequency drive, programmable controllers, and alarm dialers.
• Position pump stations to perform operational tests, utilizing cranes, hoists, or other positioning equipment.
• Connect pump station pumps to water supply and connect electrical service to appropriate station equipment prior to performing operational tests.
• Perform various operational tests to ensure that pump stations fulfill product specifications for items such as booster flow rate and pump durability.
• Recognize pump station operational defects and perform repairs.
• Fill out required paperwork which documents test results.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Requires education generally equivalent to two years of technical school in inspection and quality control course work and 1-year related experience in pump station testing and assembly operations. Knowledge in programming preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Work from assembly drawings, specifications, bills of material, material specifications, electrical schematics and equipment manuals.
• Ability to operate a variety of equipment such as multimeters with amp clamps, electrical meters, flowmeter, pressure and vacuum gauges, calipers, and dial indicators, compressed air impact wrench, and come alongs and chains together with an overhead crane.
• Must also be able to work in very confined spaces and heights up to 20 feet in the air.
