Description

JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:

As a Procurement Specialist at USEMCO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient sourcing and procurement of materials and components essential for our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for managing procurement activities for specific product lines and families of products, working closely with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, maintain optimal inventory levels, and uphold the highest standards of quality and reliability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and requirements for assigned product lines.

Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure timely availability of materials while optimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.

Identify and qualify suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and pricing.

Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations, addressing any issues or discrepancies as they arise. 

Continuously assess market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry dynamics to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Work closely with the production team to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and mitigate supply chain risks.

Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery and receipt of materials, resolving any shipment or delivery issues as needed.

Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development initiatives and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favorable terms.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Solid understanding of supply chain management principles and procurement best practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software or ERP systems.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
