JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under the supervision and reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Project Coordinator provides mechanical engineering and design services relating to a wide variety of company products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: The employee must wear safety glasses and hardhat when working in proximity to production equipment or on a job site.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Requires a 4-year degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience in engineering and product design techniques.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, vendors, contractors, and customers relating to product design issues.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions. Ability to apply engineering concepts and perform engineering calculations relating to product design.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Requires the ability to operate a variety of office equipment such as a personal computer, calculator, telephone, facsimile machine, and photocopier.

The employee occasionally works in high precarious places, in proximity to fumes or airborne particles and in outdoor weather conditions and must travel on company business.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate while working in the office and loud while working in proximity to production equipment.
COMMENTS: The employee must remain current in design and engineering procedures since vendor products are continuously upgraded.
