The USAA Insurance Marketing team plays a pivotal role in driving growth for USAA, with laser focus on our mission to serve the military community and their families. Our objective is to achieve growth in various insurance products in a direct-to-consumer distribution model, including Auto, Home, and Renters, Small Business, Life, and Health Insurance as well as other financial protection products.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marketing Analytics executive Leader to join our marketing team as the Executive Director, Insights Delivery. In this role, you will serve as the executive over the critical function of Marketing Analytics for the Insurance business, with a focus on direct-to-consumer distribution marketing optimization across many products. You will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making, optimizing marketing strategies, and maximizing customer acquisition and profitable growth. Your expertise in real-time and advanced analytics, modeling techniques, and deep understanding of the current and future marketing analytics landscape will be crucial in achieving our business objectives.
This role is responsible for utilizing, developing and adapting analytical toolkits to derive actionable insights in support of growth marketing objectives for the Insurance business. This includes executive-level oversight of key metrics aligned to business objectives, maintenance and calibration of the analytics toolkit, pull-through of Insurance marketing activities into relevant dashboards and models (via tagging, advanced reporting capabilities, etc.), and iterative testing-oriented mindset. The Executive Director, Insights Delivery will oversee a team that works closely with the Insurance Product Marketing teams and Creative and Channel Management functions.
Jointly accountable to production goals across each Insurance product
Accountable for performance reporting and insights across all Insurance products at aggregate and channel-level (including full product lifecycle and LTV of an acquisition)
Identifies opportunities to use predictive analytics to drive efforts around customer experience and marketing efforts
Agility to collaborate and influence peers and business partners as organization matures across Enterprise Marketing Data & Analytics (e.g., marketing and ad tech. stack, data and tech. integrations, operating model between model owners and end users)
Effectively partners with key stakeholders from business units to gather, analyze, triangulate, and visualize performance data across the end-to-end customer journey in a simple, digestible manner
Maintains analytical talent pipeline, internal relationships (peers, marketing enablement functions), and external relationships (vendors/partners) to maintain agility and efficiency in delivery of capabilities to generate insights for Insurance marketing performance
Oversees department directors by providing guidance on backlog management, recommended integration or tradeoff of new tech related to marketing analytics on roadmap (in conjunction with marketing enablement functions), customization or feature builds required specific to Insurance, and communication of insights to Insurance marketing team and business partners
Builds and manages high performing teams of analytical and business professionals through recruiting, training, coaching, performance management, and related managerial activities
Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from marketing activities and the job role
Ensures risks associated with marketing activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled
Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities
Strengthens data stewardship, actively manage information risk, and participate in division and enterprise data and analytics leadership forums to further information governance and mitigate information and business risks
Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
10 years of experience working in data and analytics, including data governance and data innovation across an organization developing strategies, managing major initiatives, and delivering.
4 years of experience in managing, and mentoring data science, data engineering, and/or analytics teams in the financial services industry.
Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to generate actionable insights out of data.
Experience in Data Science, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Predictive Modeling best practices.
Comprehensive knowledge of data integrity/privacy practices and applicable risk and compliance management framework
4 years of experience in managing, and mentoring data science, data engineering, and/or analytics teams in a highly regulated environment
Proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques; proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to generate actionable insights out of data
Effective communication skills to distill and express complex insights and recommendations in a clear, succinct and executive-friendly narrative
Ability to clearly represent data and insights visually
Strong statistical and problem-solving skills to analyze data and draw conclusions
Experience in Data Science, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Predictive Modeling best practices
Comprehensive knowledge of data integrity/privacy practices and applicable risk and compliance management frameworks.
What we offer:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $163,880.00-294,980.00.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
