USA Rugby - Director, Business Operations

2. National Teams: USA Rugby manages several national teams, including the Men's and Women's Eagles (the senior national teams), as well as age-grade and developmental teams. These teams compete in international tournaments and represent the United States on the global stage.
3. Competitions and Leagues: USA Rugby oversees a variety of domestic competitions, including club rugby leagues, college rugby, and youth and high school rugby. Additionally, it supports and coordinates national championship events for different levels of competition.

USA Rugby is seeking a strategic and results-driven individual to join our team as the Director of Business Operations. This role is crucial in overseeing the operational aspects of our organization, including financial management, strategic planning, compliance, and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for rugby and sports administration. The Candidate will manage the day-to-day activities and staff as it relates to the National Governing Body for rugby in the United States.
Key Responsibilities:Operational Leadership:
• Oversee daily business operations, ensuring efficient and effective processes across all departments.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency
• Manage and lead USA Rugby staff inclusive of full-time and contract employees
Financial Management:
• Manage to the organization's set budget, supporting financial stability and alignment with strategic goals.
• Work closely with the CFO to support financial reporting and auditing.
Strategic Planning:
• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute business strategies that support the organization's growth and sustainability.
• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the organization's strategic goals.
Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks, implementing risk management strategies as needed.
Human Resources and Administration:
• Work with the senior team to oversee talent management, including recruitment, retention, and employee development.
• Ensure effective administration of employee policies and benefits.
Stakeholder Management:
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, partners, and other rugby organizations.
• Represent USA Rugby in meetings, conferences, and public engagements as needed.
Technology and Innovation:
• Identify and implement technology solutions to improve operational efficiency and organizational performance.
• Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in sports management and business operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
• At least 7-15 years of experience in business operations, preferably in sports or a related field.
• Strong financial management skills, with experience in budgeting and financial reporting.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and maintaining relationships.
• Knowledge of rugby and a passion for sports administration is highly desirable.
• Experience with compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.FLSA Status: Exempt 
Pay Range: $100,000 - $130,000
Reports To: CEO
