USA for UNHCR is Hiring a Senior Associate, Foundation Partnerships Near New York, NY

SUMMARY 

The Partnerships team at USA for UNHCR focuses on mobilizing resources to secure new and manage existing private sector partnerships including those from the corporate, foundation, civil society, and community-based sectors.

The Senior Associate, Foundation Partnerships, is a new role that will be part of a growing team and will be responsible for proactively growing and maintaining partnerships with leading U.S. Foundations. Reporting to the Manager, Civil Society & Foundation Partnerships, this role will help to support USA for UNHCR’s institutional foundations strategy.

The ideal candidate is familiar with strategic relationship building for foundations. Passion for USA for UNHCR’s mission and investment in crafting impactful relationships is a must. The Senior Associate should be excited by the opportunity to build mutual relationships for impact. This position and the Partnerships team play a key role in supporting USA for UNHCR’s ambitious growth goals to support UNHCR’s work to save lives, protect rights and build a better future for people forced to flee their homes because of conflict and persecution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with developing and executing a fundraising and engagement strategy for institutional foundation partnerships.
  • Identify and pursue new engagement opportunities with potential partners to build mutually valuable, long-term partnerships through programs including but not limited to: grant awards, events, joint collaborations, and other “shared value” opportunities.
  • Help manage a portfolio of foundation partners, actively maintaining relationships with contacts.
  • Execute key moments for partner engagement to provide visibility and recognition for partners within the USA for UNHCR partnership framework.
  • Collaborate with Partnerships team and UNHCR on accounts with global reach and networks.
  • Represent USA for UNHCR at key internal and external meetings and convenings.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and lead meetings internally and externally.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and contract renewals for accounts.
  • Manage and track partnership contacts, interactions, goals and progress through Salesforce database.
  • Regularly report to the Manager, Civil Society & Foundation Partnerships on outcomes, efforts and progress toward goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

  • Minimum 3- 5 years of professional experience requiredBachelors degree preferred. Working knowledge of the global humanitarian and development space; familiarity with the different United Nations Agencies preferred.

  • Experience communicating complex, large-scale concepts clearly and simply.
  • Outstanding written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Consistently demonstrates professional maturity, sound judgement and strong decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence when interacting with employees, peers and partners.
  • Ability to be flexible, collaborative, and catalytic.
  • Demonstrates passion for USA for UNHCR’s mission.
  • Willing and able to travel as necessary.
  • Demonstrates detail orientation and accuracy in all aspects of the job.

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

WORK LOCATION 

Remote or HybridNew York, NY May also involve travel to some locations within the company’s region of operations and select donor locations.

COMPENSATION

$62,937 - $78,671
