The position collaborates with several Clorox Functional Leaders including the Technical Services Manager, Engineering, EH&S Managers, and IT Professionals. As well as leads a team of hourly Maintenance Associates including the Plant Environmental Coordinator and Network Systems Resource. The role additionally involves overseeing and guiding external engineering consultants and contractors throughout project design and implementation. This position is responsible for approximately $2.5Million Plant Capital Budget, manufacturing improvement projects including asset maintenance (building and equipment) for the Clorox Bleach manufacturing facility along with Environmental Compliance. The role will also include maintaining site Security and Network Systems. As Plant Engineering Manager, you will serve as a support to the Production Manager and assist in resolving infrastructure or replacement issues. Manages and directs the work of outside engineering consultants and contractors during design and implementation of projects. In this role, you will: People Responsibilities Empower associates by serving as the technical coach and improve their skills. Provide direct reports with supervision, continuous feedback, and commitment to their development. Build and cultivate a culture of engaged associates. Promote effective teamwork and manage the resolution of interpersonal issues Safety - Provide safety leadership and direction to employees and contractors. Ensure facility safety and environmental requirements are met. Product Quality - Support product Quality especially where technical solutions are needed and with replacement projects to plan. Assets Responsibilities Manage Capital projects including fund management to execution for Houston plant sites Deliver turnkey projects to the Plant that are in budget, on time, and meet voice of customer requirements. Availability – support equipment reliability in a way that delvers quality products timely. Be responsible for Early Management and support Lean Mfg. processes. Oversee Plant Security, Environmental, and NSR work by leading plant associated resources in those areas and interface with related functional leaders. Utilize early management techniques to support new products and business initiatives. Utilize VOC to deliver projects to stakeholders for the Midwest Hub Sites. Value Responsibilities Manage within /- 2% of department budget and deliver cost savings initiatives. Execute functional and business initiatives - establish and maintain relationship with regional business management, Technical Services Manager, and key contacts Build collaborative relationship with IT Leadership and work in close coordination with them to ensure infrastructure readiness according to planned implementation / release milestones Participate in and support Maintenance improvement initiatives Partner with internal and external resources to understand and provide input to various business and technology decisions. What we look for: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related technical field. 5 years of Engineering or maintenance related experience 2 years hourly Supervisory experience Experience with Capital projects and capital budget process PLC knowledge and troubleshooting ability highly preferred Strong interpersonal skills Knowledge of OSHA and Engineering standards Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Proven time management skills (organization and prioritization) Proactively manage individual workload while driving team deliverables A collaborative management style with the ability to build partnerships both internally and externally Ability to work with different cultures with a diverse workforce and customer base.
