Airgas is currently seeking a Regional Sales Director which may be based out of the Eastern US. Supporting our Airgas Dry Ice Commercial and Retail markets in the Eastern United States. We are an entrepreneurial company and need someone who will run the business like it is their own business. You will be responsible for enhancing partnerships with our existing customers, building rapport and relationships with prospective customers and maintaining gross margin. Candidates must have the ability to convert prospects into long-term Airgas customers. Regional Sales Director is responsible for sales growth, overseeing new and current business, pricing analysis and contract oversight. This position will have 4-6 direct reports. This role will be expected to grow existing customers and convert prospects into profitable Airgas customers. To be successful, you must be able to manage the sales program and team in its entirety to achieve Financial, Volume and Customer Service goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Create strong relationships with key client stakeholders (internal and external) at both senior and mid-management levels Must be able to analyze and interpret the competitive landscape and market trends. In this role, you will determine annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing sales strategies by analyzing trends and setting clear expectations for results. Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new customers. Maintain sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors. Analyze pipeline and lead data, deliver periodic reporting to the leadership teams providing key business insights: typical reporting relates to Customers, Pipeline Forecast and Trends, Portfolio Management, Target Accounts, Market Segmentation, Win/Loss, Age, and more. Overseeing Contract Management and program/project execution is required. This position assumes leadership of a sales team and decides the overall sales and support plan(s) for the group, determining measurable sales activities that establish value and gain share. He/she is responsible for coaching, developing, and mentoring the assigned sales team, motivating behaviors that drive further sales and identifies areas for growth and improvement for each team member. Desire to own projects and exceed expectations, with ability to find solutions and deliver results within a rapidly changing, entrepreneurial, technology-driven culture. Must also have the ability to identify and solve customer issues strategically and efficiently. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional departments. Work collaboratively with integral departments to foster a culture of continuous process improvement Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must work smart, exhibit strong time management skills, develop strong relationships and have good sales skills in negotiations. Accumulated work experience with a proven successful track record may also be considered. Minimum 5 years of working knowledge and experience in sales program management in retail, food grade manufacturing and/or chemical manufacturing. Experience in Contract Management and Retail Management is required. Technical knowledge and an aptitude of mechanical processes is a plus.
