R10007838 Manager - Accounting & Financial Reporting (Open) Location: Radnor, PA (Airgas HO) - Management How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? JOB SUMMARY: The Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting will have responsibility for owning certain key accounting processes, researching technical accounting topics, implementing new accounting standards, issuing position papers, coordinating financial reporting packages to global corporate headquarters, and other ad hoc projects. The Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting will act as a liaison to all subsidiaries on accounting matters and will consult with relevant stakeholders including the Assistant Controller, Controller & Deputy CFO, external and internal auditors, business unit management, tax, treasury, corporate development, and legal. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Own certain key accounting areas, including coordinating with business units on these areas and implementing process improvements where possible. Actively research new and existing accounting standards and ensure that the company and all subsidiaries are in compliance with the accounting standards, including preparation of related memoranda ensuring appropriate accounting for actual and proposed transactions. Support the acquisition accounting and business development teams in reviewing and providing guidance with mergers and acquisitions. Participate in the preparation and coordination of financial reporting packages to global corporate headquarters, including balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows. Interact with external auditors to ensure compliance with technical accounting issues. Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning. Work with management to recommend and implement best practice solutions, which enhance the internal control environment and operational efficiency of the Company. ________________________ Are you a MATCH? COMPETENCIES: Detailed knowledge and understanding of US GAAP; experience with IFRS is a plus Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills Advanced Microsoft Office skills Google Suite platform experience a plus ERP or other general ledger computer system knowledge preferred, but not required Strong organizational and project management skills; demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization Able to operate at a detailed level without losing sight of the big picture Action oriented; thrives in a dynamic environment; willing to take the initiative when the opportunity presents itself Analytical thinker, with a strong background in accounting processes and data flows Flexible/team player; comfortable changing directions mid-stream; understands the importance of achieving team objectives Ability to research and address complex technical issues REQUIREMENTS: Four year accounting degree from an accredited college or university Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Five to ten years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including public accounting Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a plus PHYSICAL DEMANDS: the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
