Ketjen Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Albemarle Corporation, is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Professional to work at our Bayport Facility (Pasadena, TX). The department is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits for compliance purposes. Responsibilities include: Execute company’s Environmental Program strategy to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. Remain current with all environmental regulations as they apply to our industry. Communicate air quality requirements to all levels of the organization. Submit compliance documents including semi-annual and annual Title V certifications as well as NESHAP, NSPS, or Title V required notifications to appropriate regulatory agencies. Perform complex emission calculations and prepare complex construction/operating permit applications for current and future projects. Analyze, interpret and distill data and information to support submittals to regulatory agencies and internal clients. Participate in the coordination, development, review and implementation of company air quality programs, training, presentations, policies and procedures. Maintain and update air permits, databases, inventories, files and tracking systems to ensure regulatory compliance. Interpret environmental regulations and assist in the development of company guidelines for environmental compliance. Participate in regulatory inspections and internal audit processes. Prepare and direct the activities of third-party contractors to prepare necessary permit applications, dispersion modeling, stack testing, or other required studies. Provide air quality support to company operations and other technical services including waste program, as necessary. Provide guidance to other team members to complete work assignments and to achieve department goals/objectives. Foster and collaborate good working relationships with other departments. Perform all duties following safety guidelines established by the Company. As regulations and staffing levels evolve, additional regulatory specialties may be added to this position. Support the corporate and site’s RC14001 program. Participate in root cause analysis of potential or actual incidents. Requirements B.S. in Engineering (Chemical or Environmental) or equivalent Minimum 6 years’ experience in a plant environment.
