The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at Los Angeles Air Force Base is searching for a Systems Resilience Integration Manager (GS-1101-13).
Description:
Do you want to drive resilience into our nation's space systems? The ERTA's mission is to ensure our nation's space capabilities can persist through conflict. The ERTA has developed and piloted its Mission Resilience Process - based on the Space Mission Assurance model in Joint Pub 3-14, Space Operation - to bring a system-based approach to resilience integration. This position works with SSC program offices and mission partners (eg, S2, SSDP, SpRCO) to develop threat-based resilience strategies; identify candidate concepts, technologies, and payloads; and support the acquisition implementation of these solutions, to include technical requirements development, contract documentation, program security, and program finance justification.
Ideal candidate will have a bachelors or masters in engineering; experience in space system development and integration (eg, payload, satellite bus, and/or ground system hardware and software) with industry or a government program office; a current TS/SCI clearance; experience with government mission partners outside SSC (eg, DAFRCO, SpRCO, NRO, MDA, SDA, NGA). Some experience across the space acquisition lifecycle (ie, concept, design, development, integration, and test). Some experience with communication systems. Some experience with weapon system cybersecurity. Ideal candidate will have a space technology background; strong initiative to proactively engage and communicate with government and industry leaders; possess strong written/oral communication and presentation skills; ability to collaborate on everything from fuzzy concepts to technical requirements; ability to proactively engage with program office leadership and industry; ability to translate ambiguous guidance into specific actions.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of laws, principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management.
2. Knowledge of business, industrial management, contracting procedures, technical concepts, and production practices to evaluate contractor proposals and activities.
3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense, Air Force, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process.
4. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
5. Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals and groups within the office as well as outside the immediate work unit.
6. Ability to plan, organize, lead, and manage critical aspects of research, development, production, and support of subsystems or equipment, and integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of acquisition functions and personnel in support of the process.
7. Employee must be able to acquire and retain a TOP SECRET clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access in order to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
8. Employee must pass initial and continued periodic short notice drug testing.
