Job Description The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, developmental planning, system of systems engineering, and threat reduction to help shape future space missions across the national security space enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including United States Space Command, U.S. Strategic Command, Air Force Materiel Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of services and support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers but also horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation. The Ground Systems Technical Agent (GSTA) organization is one of four Technical Agent organizations within Space Systems Command (SSC) Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO). As part of the GSTA, your role is to assess, develop, and recommend engineering solutions to ensure end to end systems integration from the satellite ground systems and Command and Control (C2) centers to space system end-effectors. This is critical to ensure desired space capabilities are delivered as needed when they are needed. Work Model 100% onsite on Aerospace’s main campus in El Segundo, CA What You’ll Be Doing Through due diligence and technical engagements, develop understanding of functionality and interconnectedness of the systems in the space enterprise. Develop engineering artifacts, such as architectural DODAF views, that captures end-to-end integration of systems spanning multiple organizations, geographic locations, and classification levels. Identify inter-system integration challenges, gaps, and/or risks associated with executing Design Reference Missions, such as those identified the US Space Command. Strategically and expediently work with stakeholders across the space enterprise, e.g. Space Systems Command, Space Operations Center, National Reconnaissance Office, US Space Command, to develop and execute mitigation plans to address identified challenges, gaps, and/or risks What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in applicable STEM areas. Minimum of 10 years of experience in satellite space and ground systems development, acquisition, or operations. Ability to independently research and gather information on space and ground systems. Ability to engage and conduct technical exchanges/forums with stakeholders at multiple leadership levels across the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense Ability to develop technical recommendations and solutions in technical subject matters associated with military program satellite and ground systems development. Ability to travel domestically approximately 10%. This positions requires active Top Secret (TS) clearance/SCI access and the ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
