If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
The GS-11 salary range starts at $82,764 per year. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level. Specialized experience: Specialized experience is defined as experience reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements; analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements; preparing statements of work and serving as the contractor representative to ensure compliance with contracts; analyzing contract specifications and determining if they are met; and analyzing and researching equipment problems or customer issues and making appropriate recommendations from many alternatives.
OR
Possess one year of specialized experience that is equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service as stated above.
OR
Have three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Have a combination of education and experience that meet the requirements stated above.
