US Office of Inspector General is Hiring an IT Specialist (Enterprise Architecture) Near Alexandria, VA

Duties

  • Support business and IT stakeholders providing process, journey mapping, application of business process modeling standards, resource mapping, and outcome aligned process architectures describing the OIG’s Business Architecture.
  • Coordinate with OIG process owners, process improvement, and others to build and manage the Business Architecture to ensure it describes the current (AS-IS) baseline, describes target state requirements, and transformational requirements.
  • Develop customer journey maps that describe the customer state, expectations, and “Job to be done”. Work with business process owners to optimize process outcomes and products to the needs of the customer journey.
  • Assess business-centric views to ensure they describe business outcomes, deliverables, KPIs, and resources required to deliver value to the customer. Improve business outcomes through the identification of gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Work with the Data Architect, Information Owners, and Process Managers to document data and business information. Ensures the Business Architecture describes the information owned, required, consumed, and produced by each business process area.
  • Work with Solution Architects to ensures the Business Architecture describes the use, alignment, and functionality of technology resources required by each business process to deliver product and outcomes in alignment with identified KPIs.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • The incumbent must adhere to the DoD Standards of Conduct.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

  • Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  • Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as:
  • Demonstrated experience performing duties in continuously monitoring and conducting business process analysis and improvement initiatives to enable and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Tracked and improved metrics / key performance indicators in support of meeting operational metrics and SLAs.
  • Resolved assigned incidents and ensured the resolution of assigned incidents and problems that are escalated. Coordinated as necessary to further investigate incidents, diagnose problems, and identify appropriate fixes or solutions.
  • Designed and built business process models that describe the business process, products produced, and the resources required to deliver value to customers.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.
