Duties

• Perform health examinations for occupational and non-occupational illnesses or injuries.
• Make referrals to other medical services or order diagnostic procedures as authorized.
• Advise employees on obtaining health care from private and public sources.
• Provide health education and counseling to individuals and groups.
• Participate in medical screening and surveillance programs, biological monitoring, epidemiological investigations, ergonomic evaluations, and related studies and surveys.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• Childcare Checks: This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
• This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
• A valid and current state driver's license is required. The incumbent is required to drive a motor vehicle to make work site visits and complete other contact away from the OH Office, hospital, and installation.
• Applicants must be able to fulfill non-privileged professional credential requirements.
• Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
