Job Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Carrier Sales Manager to join our team. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with carriers, negotiating freight rates, and driving carrier performance to meet our business objectives. This position may require travel up to 30% of the time. The ideal candidate has a strong background in carrier sales, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, ensuring a consistent and reliable network of transportation providers.
- Negotiate freight rates and contracts with carriers to maximize profitability and meet our business objectives.
- Monitor carrier performance, identify improvement areas, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive operational efficiencies and improve service delivery to customers.
- Identify new carrier opportunities and evaluate their capabilities to expand our carrier network.
- Stay current with industry trends and market conditions to make informed business decisions.
- Manage and maintain accurate carrier profiles, contracts, and other relevant documentation.
- Provide regular reports and updates on carrier performance to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in carrier sales or a similar role, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of transportation operations, freight management, and carrier pricing strategies.
- Proficient in using transportation management systems and other relevant software.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
