US Headquarters, Air Force Reserve Command is Hiring an OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN Near Lewis, WA

Duties

Assist in scheduling and dispatching aircrews, obtaining flight clearances, maintaining aircrew training records, compiling reports, and maintaining required publications for Flight Crew Information File (FCIF) and other required publications.
Input, update, and retrieve aircrew data using Air Force ARMS at the squadron level.
Assist the aviation resource management specialist in assessment of aviation resource management program and planning activities through analysis of data and reports and the determination of special pay allocations.
Assist the specialist in the determination of eligibility and calculation of special pay. Process pay actions involving additional flying training periods, incentive pay, and tax exemption.
Perform work supporting Status of Resources and Training Systems (SORTS) reporting and planning activities related to SORTS.

  • Travel and relocation expenses will not be paid.
  • Disclosure of Political Appointments is required
  • Preferred Military AFSC and Grade: 1C072
  • Position may or will require incumbent to Fly in military and/or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments
  • Required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
  • Position may require a background security investigation to determine suitability for employment and/or a security clearance
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
  • Recruitment Incentive may be authorized for this position
  • May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary/permanent duty assignments

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Group Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in federal service (or equivalent in other pay systems) which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which includes assisting analyzing data for program trends; determining eligibility for special pay; accomplishing SORTS (or equivalent) reporting; operating and maintaining a resource management system, processing pay actions, providing technical guidance on operations resource management, preparing and processing flight authorizations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of Aviation Resource Management System (ARMS) (or equivalent) directives/instructions, policies, and procedures.
2. Knowledge of aircraft types and personnel composition.
3. Knowledge of personnel training requirements, aviation service eligibility, and aircrew rating and incentive pay requirements.
4. Ability to interpret data or directives covering assigned area and to review records, identify errors, and determine and resolve problems.
5. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
