The Embryology Laboratory Manager position is responsible for the operational activities of the IVF Laboratory. This position is responsible for the oversight of technical and day-to-day operations within the laboratory. This position requires a focus on patient service, maintenance of the highest technical standards and provision of the services and resources necessary to support Ovation Fertility. In addition, this position is responsible for the direct supervision of laboratory staff.

How You'll Contribute:

• Supervises, orients, and instructs laboratory personnel and assists in performance evaluations.
• Oversees all Embryology laboratory procedures and quality management.
• Aids in troubleshooting lab issues.
• Attends departmental meetings and implements new processes as necessary to improve performance and success rates.
• Assists Director in the review of budget and costs annually for laboratory.
• Informs Laboratory Director of any significant day-to-day operational issues and ongoing success rates.
• Clear, professional and timely communication with staff, physicians and patients.
• Participate in Continuing Technical Improvement exercises.
• Maintain technical proficiency in routine laboratory procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of routine and ad hoc analyses of data relating to performance of the laboratory and individual technologists and to specific research projects.
• Develop the proficiency necessary for oversight of technical staff in their use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Reviews and oversees laboratory Quality Management (QM) and Quality Assurance (QA) programs.
• Consults with embryology staff and Director about quality control concerns and advises.
• Helps troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and policies (including OSHA) are updated and reviewed annually by all Embryologists.
• Other duties and projects as assigned

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science or related field (Master's Preferred)
• 10 years of previous experience in laboratory setting, or related position
• 3 years of experience in IVF Lab (5 years preferred)

• Demonstrated proficiency in all routine embryology and andrology laboratory procedures including micromanipulation and biopsy of gametes and embryos.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to build and facilitate good working relationships with staff at all levels of organization.
• Demonstrated ability exercising sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and within deadlines
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
