After successful completion of the program requirements and based on FDIC’s needs, the selectees may be non-competitively converted to a Term or Permanent position in the competitive service. This internship position may confer conversion eligibility to the position of Administrative Support Assistant, CG-0303-06, Administrative Specialist, CG-0301-07/9, or Operations Assistant, CG-0303-06. To be eligible for conversion to the competitive service, you must complete 640 hours of work experience (up to 320 hours may be waived based on successful performance in the position and a 3.5 overall GPA); meet the OPM qualification standards for the target position; and meet the requirements of the FDIC Pathways Internship Participant Agreement. However, service in the FDIC Pathways Internship Program confers no right to further employment in the competitive or excepted service.
The applicants selected will be offered an excepted service appointment without time limitation. Interns must continue to meet the requirements of the Pathways Program.

To be found eligible for this program, applicants must: (1) be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree seeking program at a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis; (2) have a minimum cumulative (overall) GPA of 2.50 out of 4.0; and (3) be in good academic standing. Education requirements are established by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and must be met by close of announcement.
Applicants must have an anticipated graduation date of May 1, 2025 or later.
Below are the qualification requirements by grade:
CG-04 level – Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree; OR have 1 year of general experience to include: progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled; OR have a combination of education and experience: equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
Combination of Education and Experience - Your current education completed is credited as a percentage of the education required for the grade level and your current experience is credited as a percentage of the total experience required for the grade level. The two percentages are added and must equal 100% in order to qualify for the desired grade level.
One academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university.

Selectee(s) for this position will be required to report to their duty station office at least 1 day per pay period beginning January 2, 2024, and at their supervisor’s direction to support mission and project needs. In person reporting requirements are expected to increase in July 2024.
