US Commander, Navy Installations is Hiring a RECREATION AID (FITNESS) Near Pensacola, FL

Duties

  • Verifies the identification of all persons entering the facility.
  • Patrols inside and outside, circulating among the patrons to maintain good order to prevent damage to the facility and equipment, and assist patrons as required.
  • Issues recreation and athletic equipment.
  • Assist in setting up appropriate equipment for recreational sporting events. (30%)
  • Serves as an attendant in the gymnasium complex and informs patrons of physical fitness opportunities on the station.
  • Instructs individuals in the proper implementation and maintenance of conditioning training programs designed by the Supervisory Sports Specialist.
  • Orientates patrons in the use of fitness equipment.
  • Demonstrates fitness equipment called in the individual training program. (25%)
  • Operates a cash register.
  • Collects and records financial transactions and prepares a daily activity record (DAR) at completion of shift. (15%)
  • Performs routine inspection of all gymnasium equipment and reports deficiencies to supervisor.
  • Operates washer and dryer to keep towels, uniforms, etc., clean and dry.
  • Keeps all spaces in a neat and orderly fashion (dusting, empty trash cans, mop, vacuum, etc.) (15%)
  • Performs exercise sessions as required for aerobics, flexibility, and Nautilus training. (5%)
  • Performs minor repair to equipment using repair manual procedures. (5%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned. (5%)

Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
  • May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

Qualifications

Knowledge of and an interest in sports. Ability to assist people in a helpful and courteous manner. Training in physical education and fitness equipment including Nautilus machines, computerized cardiovascular equipment and free weights.
