Duties

  • Provides analysis and evaluation of programs and program elements and systems to improve efficiency of internal administrative operations, organizations or management.
  • Analyzes and evaluates policies, procedures, guidelines, and administrative processes to resolve problems and recommend changes to meet BLM / BLM Alaska initiatives and program goals ensuring compliance with current laws, regulations and policy.
  • Responds to management requests to analyze problems or issues by developing and presenting workable solutions and management actions that are based on sound management principles and are achievable.
  • Writes and produces reports, briefing papers, and analyses to assist managers in decision making and responds to requests from other offices.
  • Prepares directives, memoranda, policy statements and other written guidelines and recommendations.

Qualifications

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 Level. Specialized experience is defined as the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience include applying a range of evaluative and analytical methods, techniques, and management procedures to programs, projects, and studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of operation; and reviewing existing regulatory data to determine and make recommendations to management officials.

Education: Successful completion of at least three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or LL.M from an accredited college or university.
